Question: Compare auto insurance online?

I friends tells me that I should find my auto insurance online instead of calling the insurance companies. Do you guys know if that is the way to go. Do they offer the same deals online. One the phone I might be able to talk my way to a good deal. How does it work and how long does it take if I want the check with all the available companies.

You will have to find that out yourself I am afraid,.. this is because we are all different, drive different cars, live in different places and pay different prices

I don't trust on line quotes to be accurate. There is nothing like speaking with an agent in his/ her local office. Simply call a few and choose the best one for you (not necessarily the cheapest one)

As a retired agent myself, I sometimes use the online pages to keep my current company honest, and every time I use one, it gives only a "generic " figure range, then asks you to call an agent or company rep anyway, so why not skip that step and get a good quote first?

Entidt says "I don't trust on line quotes to be accurate " and by saying this, he proves that he has never taken an online quote. This is because most "online quotes " will result in an agent (or two) phoning you. This is true for 99% of cases.

Just get a quote from insurers you get from yellow pages,. the internet, the TV, the radio. Simply don't go for the first price they quote you but spend a few days collecting data.
