Some insurance companies pull credit reports, some don't. Some who do only pull it during the purchase process, not the quote process. Typically, credit inquiries by insurance companies are considered "soft " inquiries and do not affect credit scores. Therefore, it's not something to be concerned about. |

I was told by a financial analyst that every time your credit is run it lowers your credit score. |

No, absolutely not. The only thing that affects your credit history adversely is late credit payments, defaulting on loans, or declaring bankruptcy. |

No, getting quotes does not affect your credit history because it's just a quote, nothing more. It's not a contract or anything like that. |

I think you mean "credit score. " Credit history is borrowing and paying back. I recently applied for a home equity line of credit. Two reasons listed for my score being less than perfect were "length of accounts " and "too many inquiries in the past 12 months. " I have no idea as to who was inquiring, when or why. I got the line of credit and decided to leave the credit report alone. |

No, it does not affect your credit score. When auto insurance companies do a credit check they do it through a third party and so they do not see your personal details. This is all explained on this website. I hope this helps. Good luck! |
