Yes, you must. If you don't declare it they will find out if you have to make a claim in the next year. And you will render yourself uninsured by failing to disclose. Now, I'm not a blue-eyed boy and the day was where I would have risked it - but everything's computerised now and it takes them a mere second or two to look up your entire driving history - old insurance details, MoT's to cars in your possession, driving record...it's just silly to take any risk. What happens if you kill someone in an own-fault accident? No insurance? £1m+ claim value? You're screwed for life for the sake of trying to avoid a 'possible' loading of 10% on your insurance premium. In fact, if it was only a 3 year endorsement (3 points?), then there would be no loading whatsoever. Get the idea out of your head - it's not worth it. And I'll tell you something else they do - they 'rely' upon you supplying correct information when they take your money. They do not check any details. When the claim comes, however, they run a fine-toothed comb through everything; looking for that tiny detail that renders your insurance void. They'll only find out when they go looking. |
